Character boosts (to max level and to catch up) are sensibly positioned so the player who kept up to date with the PVE contents don't feel their efforts invalidated. The game's quest hubs have smart quest layouts so you rarely waste time running back and forth. Almost all MMORPGs are subject to fetch quests. There's a lot more to do than to log on for the weekly raid reset. And all these different activities all reward different, relevant resources that you can use to improve your character in all kinds of activities too. There's treasure hunting, an entire base-building game, a sailing RPG, exploration, etc. There's a ton of content in Lost Ark that plays outside of the "endgame". They tend to touch the behaviour of the skill rather than its numbers or modifiers. There's a lot of mutators for your skills like Diablo 3's Runes, but far more sophisticated. Controls are more reminiscent of MOBA games, and more focus on skillshots. People often compare this game to Diablo or PoE, but I think it's closer to a MOBA. Devs like to mix things up and they're not afraid to try out a new "endgame" formula for a stretch. There's 4 people dungeons, 8 people raids, 16-player, multi-party raids where the raid splits up, and more. 4 people go in to a time-limited hunt for a single boss, with limited deaths allowed for the party. There's Guardian Raids, which play like Monster Hunter missions. Chaos Dungeons, which play like D3's rifts, focusing on more horde-clearing and riskier builds. There's challenge towers, which are solo challenges. Lost Ark's typical "endgame" is a good mixed bag.
